Bunker Hill Engine began selling Small engines and hardware items in Holmes County, Ohio over 50 years ago. Founder Paul Weaver attended Briggs and Stratton service school in 1964 which started our first engine dealership. In the early 70’s he acquired his first Diesel engine dealership for Lister engines. Today we serve the north central Ohio area as a John Deere engine service Dealer, we sell and service Yanmar, Iveco, PSI, PSI Heavy Duty, Ford industrial engines, Kohler standby generators, engines and generator sets, generator ends, and replacement parts.
In October 2014, Bunker Hill Engine bought out another local engine shop. Along with that acquisition came an Orscheln F.A.S.T. dealership that offered custom-built cables while you waited, and a small customer base of equipment manufacturers who used their cables. Customers were bringing us cables for skid loaders, tractors, log skidders, winch controls, and other types of equipment of all different brands. Over time we noticed different customers wanting the same types of cables so began stocking certain items so they didn’t have to wait. The cables we were seeing most often would cost $300-$400 if you bought the name brand part from the equipment dealer. We were building a cable of the same quality and selling it over the counter for less than $100. We decided that if a farmer in Holmes County Ohio liked saving money on a cable for his skid loader, so would farmers all across the country. In the fall of 2015 we officially created Bunker Hill Cables and started offering our products on e-Bay. Sales boomed almost instantly, and we have been developing and adding new products ever since.
From the start, our business has been to take care of our customer first. We understand that equipment down time costs you money. When you buy from Bunker Hill Cables, you are buying direct from the manufacturer, not a distributor. This saves you both time and money. We stock all of our standard cables and ship the same day on orders placed Monday through Friday. Since we build all the cables here at our shop, it also gives us the flexibility to build a custom cable and ship it the same day when it needs to be done.
Since no one is perfect there will be times when something goes wrong, and our job is to deal with it as efficiently and quickly as possible. If there is an issue with a cable not fitting, our first priority is to get you a cable that works, not deciding if it was ordered wrong and who is going to pay for it. We have learned that although going above and beyond for customer service costs us a free cable now and then, it more than pays for itself in referrals and repeat customers.
